Adam Mosseri talked #FreeTory with The Shade Room.
Earlier this week, Tory Lanez’s wildly popular Quarantine Radio series on Instagram Live was hit with a temporary suspension. Lanez and his followers retaliated with the #FreeTory hashtag and accused the platform of unfair ruling.
During a Live chat with The Shade Room on Wednesday (April 8), Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri addressed the suspension and claimed the issue was over nude content, which is a violation of the company’s community guidelines.
“Quarantine Radio is great, so first, shoutout to Tory Lanez on that. Quarantine Radio is not banned,” Mosseri clarified. “The Lives have been great, the Lives with the fans have been great. But you can’t have nudity. That’s part of our community guidelines, part of our community rules, and we can’t make exceptions.”

“On a couple of those Lives there was nudity, so we had to stop the Live. There’s a short period of time where you can’t go Live again, and we have to stick to the rules, otherwise why do we have them?” he continued.
“But, generally a big fan of Tory Lanez, big fan of Quarantine Radio, and I hope it comes back soon, but just no nudity!” Mosseri concluded.

Lanez jokingly clapped back at Mosseri during the Live, commenting, “I JUST WANNA BE FREE ADAM” and “THAT’S CAP.” However, in an Instagram post shared later on Wednesday (April 8), Lanez denied ever having nudity on his Radio, but assured Mosseri “We still love you.”
Lanez’s Quarantine Radio has seen the likes of Young Thug, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Chris Brown, Megan Thee Stallion and more. With Drizzy as a featured guest, the Radio even broke an Instagram Live viewers record, with over 310,000 people watching at once. Quarantine Radio will return to Instagram next Tuesday (April 14).
While he’s been hosting his Quarantine Radio, Lanez has been simultaneously promoting his forthcoming New Toronto 3 project. On Twitter, the Canadian-born star reminded fans that New Toronto 3’s arrival will mark the end of his deal with Interscope Records.
“It’s crazy to think that. I drop my LAST mixtape / project with INTERSCOPE on FRIDAY ... AND IM OFF THE LABEL ... LITERALLY A FREE MAN!!!! FREE TO DO AND DROP THE MUSIC THAT I WANT,” he tweeted Tuesday (April 7). “#TheNewToronto3 will be the first taste of what’s to come.”
New Toronto 3 is expected to drop on Friday (April 10).
