The presiding Pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ, Adewale Giwa has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to fulfill his electoral promises before thinking of who becomes the next Nigeria’s president after him.
Giwa, in his reaction to Pastor Tunde Bakare’s statement urging Buhari to pick his successor for 2023 presidential race, said it would be wrong for anyone to talk of the future elections when things were yet to turn around for Nigerians.
The outspoken cleric said the good people of Nigeria were still not happy with the current economic status of Nigeria, stressing, “a good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.”
He said: “It is a pity that Pastor Tunde Bakare can align himself with a bad tree, and no wonder they have refused to say the truth to power. How can you be talking about future elections when the current system is not working?
“All they still do is to rig themselves into power and forget about their electoral promises. Nigerians want the best for themselves, and we cannot have that best if the country is still parading corrupt leaders.
“We cannot have the best functional nation when the old ones are not ready to allow the new ones to come in. Let Buhari make healthy food affordable and accessible for the common man.
“Why do they choose to leave what to do undone and follow the paths of the wicked? Are we all happy with the current situation of Nigeria right now? Do you know how many people who are currently in kidnapper’s den that are crying for help?
