Google Doodle: Who is Camille Claudel? Sculptor who defied gender discrimination

Google Doodle

Today, Doodle celebrates the 155th anniversary of the birth of the French sculptor Camille Claudel. She went through many difficulties in her life, especially in the arts.
Being very determined from birth, she constantly broke stereotypes about gender inequality, which was often reflected in her works.

Camille Claudel was born in Fer-en-Tardinoy and already in early childhood began to do the first work of clay. When she was 12 years old, her father arranged with Alfred Boucher to appreciate her work and ability. Alfred drew attention to the serious potential of Camille Claudel and advised her to move to Paris to study art more seriously. So she did, entering the Colarossi Academy, Camille Claudel continued to study and improve her skills, which led her to one of the main meetings in 1882 with the famous sculptor Auguste Rodin.

The bulk of Camille Claudel's work is in the museum in Nogent-sur-Seine, which opened in 2017.
