While in Lagos, Chiuri who is visiting Nigeria for the first time, will hold a Masterclass for Nigerian designers and appear in conversation with Adichie at a gala night.

Chimamanda’s affinity for Nigerian fashion is no secret. Nigeria is positioned firmly in the heart of Africa’s fashion scene and it is hoped that Maria Grazia Chiuri’s visit to the country will unlock more opportunities for its new crop of fashion designers to get the chance to collaborate with a global powerhouse such as Dior.
Chiuri has openly admitted to being inspired by Chimamanda Adichie’s style and has often complimented the Nigerian brands featured in this project.
In September 2016 for her debut fashion show as Creative Director of Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri got the world buzzing by featuring a T-shirt centered around the title of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s popular TED Talk, We Should All Be Feminists.
