INTERNATIONAL MARATHON RACE: TRACE DEPLOYS OPERATIVES, PATROL VEHICLES

Towards the success and safety of participants at the forthcoming International Marathon Race, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) said it has put in place adequate logistics for the exercise slated for Saturday November 2, 2019.

A release signed by the Director, Traffic Planning Research and Statistics of the Corps, Cdr. Micheal Ajayi, indicated that 400 operatives, 15 Patrol Vehicles, 10 Patrol Bikes, five heavy duty towing vehicles and 10 medium towing vehicles had been deployed for the smooth running of the Marathon race.

According to the release, the deployment, in collaboration with other sister agencies was to ensure prompt clearance of all hindrances, to free passage for participants in the race, just as route lining on the identified 124 black sports of areas restricted for vehicles have been demarcated, with caution tapes.

It urged all operatives to be prompt, civil, humane and exhibit high level of professionalism, enjoining all motorists and general public to co-operative with the Corps by adhering to all the modalities guiding the International Marathon Race.

Areas to be restricted for the race include; Iyana-Oloke, Panseke, Omida, Isale-Igbein and Sapon, while other routes are Ago-Oko, Ake Round About, Itoko, Arinlese-Saje Adatan Round About, as well as Ake Palace.
