The Supreme Court on Monday struck out a fresh suit filed by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its presidential candidate, Ambrose Owuru, challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 presidential election. The party had approached the apex court to restore their case against President Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A former presidential aide Reno Omokri has alleged that President Muhammadu Buhari is heading to London, the United Kingdom to settle his family issues. Buhari will embark on a private trip to London after attending the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Presidential aide on Social Media Lauretta Onochie has said the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) will expose Nigerian lecturers who have multiple full-time jobs. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU’s, rejection of President Muhammadu Buhari’s order to enrol lecturers in the Integrated Payroll Personnel System (IPPS).

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has said the payment of the consequential increments of the N30,000 Minimum Wage Law is the prerogative of each state. This comment came from the NGF Chairman and Ekiti State Governor Fayemi Kayode in Abuja on Monday after a meeting of the group.

Senate President Ahmad Lawan has maintained that Nigeria still needs a bicameral legislature because the country is diverse. Lawan said Nigeria’s bicameral legislature which contains the Senate and House of Representatives has ensured justice, equity and fairness.

The headquarters of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in Abuja has been gutted by fire. In a statement issued on Monday by the spokesman of the agency, Wahab Gbadamosi, the fire outbreak happened, weekend. According to Gbadamosi, the outbreak affected the store, where old files are kept, located at the annex building of the service.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has called on the Egyptian government to help the country in tackling terrorism in the Sahel region. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the crowd that attended its official flag-off of its governorship campaign in Lokoja, Kogi state capital on Friday, is a red card issued by the people to Governor Yahaya Bello. The party in a statement signed its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiya, on Sunday added that the crowd means that Kogi remains a home to the PDP, which will further manifest in PDP’s landslide victory at the November 16 election.

Hours after its release, American rapper Kanye West’s album, “Jesus Is King” has sparked a response from Church of Satan. Jesus Is King was released on October 25, after a longer-than-expected delay. The album’s official release followed listening events in cities that included Detroit, New York City, and Los Angeles.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said qualification for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is the priority of Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr. There have been rumours that Rohr will dump the Super Eagles after an impressive 1-1 draw with five-time World Cup winners Brazil.
